September Meeting Notes
President Joan Wagner called the meeting to order at 7:00.
The last meeting notes were reviewed. It was moved and seconded to approve the agenda and the last meeting notes, all ayes, motion carried.
Financial:
-Rainbow Bridge: John has located a rock for the sign. Tom Anderson will donate and deliver the rock for free. The group needs to issue him a letter for the donation. Jill said that a Historic Route 20 sign would be placed near the Rainbow Bridge.
-Burma Shave signs: The signs are done and need posts. The signs should be up bu the next meeting.
-Dog Park: Some of the group feels that the ground South of the tennis court is is too small for a dog park. The group will continue to explore other options.
-Sand Volleyball: The City Council had discussed the possible location of a Sand Volleyball pit.
-Flagpoles around the Square: Smidt will check to see who has the Titan flags and how they are put on the Courthouse Square light poles.
-REC Center: There was a discussion on whether or not a REC Center was a viable option or not.
-Grants: Jill shared some of the grants available for projects.
Next meeting is October 17th, 2018 at 7pm.

June Meeting Minutes
President Joan Wagner called the meeting to order at 7:00 with 17 people present.
The last meeting notes were reviewed. It was moved and seconded to approve the agenda and the last meeting notes, all ayes, motion carried.
Financial: Checkbook Balance- $8535.89
Less commitments- $220 future bandstand concert, $1000 downtown assessment, $1300 for rock and $200 for signs for Rainbow, $1000 for 501(c)3 status, $600 for Burma Shave signs, Port-a-pots and advertising for June 1st concert.
501(c)3 – Paperwork is in hands of IRS. Already have $1000 approved for this.
Rainbow Bridge – Still waiting on North side of bridge to be transferred. Howrey has volunteered to help.
Burma Shave signs – Signs should be ready in a month.
Dog Park – Opportunity Living was concerned with liability. Theresa will ask the administrator.
Scavenger Hunt – Set for the week prior to Sweetcorn Daze.
Disk Golf – Concerned with mosquitoes due to standing water. Might have another location picked out.
Create Revitalization Newsletter – Looking for content.
Website – Emma Schmit has website up.
Wayfinding – Future Rotarian project.
Summer Kickoff – June 1st – Response was awesome for the event. Decided to have Live on the Square every 3rd Friday.
July 20 duties:
Jim – Band
Sue – Lynchs (beer and food) and Lions (dessert)
Jill – Coffee/Smoothie lady
Phil – Las Flores (beer garden)
Theresa – Martin Hildreth popcorn
Deb and Emma – Kids activities
Mainstreet Iowa application – consensus of group to not apply at this time.
Suggestion to put barn quilts on two story building when city acquires it.
Theresa asked group to plan a walk/run the Wednesday of Swetcorn Daze. Please bring ideas for route to the next meeting. Sweetcorn Daze Sunset Stroll. This could be a stamp on the scavenger hunt.
Next meeting is July 10 at 7pm at the community room in library.

Live on the Square
Join us July 20th from 6 to 10 PM for live music from The Rockin Rollamatics, great food, and cold drinks!
Bring your lawn chair up to the 4th Street side of the Rockwell City Square to have a good time!

May Meeting Minutes

The last meeting notes were reviewed. It was moved and seconded to approve the agenda and the last meeting notes, all ayes, motion carried.

Burma Shave signs – Should be ready in May.
Downtown Assessment – Scheduled May 8-10. Assessment should be finalized in 3-4 weeks. There was good turnout for public meeting.
Dog Park – Opportunity Living has not shown interest in the project. The group will look for city property to use for the park.
Scavenger Hunt — Set for the week prior to Sweetcorn Daze. Chamber is on board for us to do this. Emma has card for the hunt.
Disk Golf – No report.
Create Revitalization Newsletter – Looking for content.
Website – Emma Schmit has website up.
Wayfinding – It was decided that multiple groups need to be involved. Other group members will be invited to the June meeting to decide how to move forward. Jill will take pictures of Manson’s signs.
Summer Kickoff – June 1 – The group will pay for two port-a-pots. It was moved by Jill and seconded by Joy, all ayes, motion carried. The group will advertise for the Summer Kickoff event. It was moved by Jill and seconded by Alyson, all ayes, motion carried.
Calhoun County Economic Development will be doing a housing assessment for the whole county.
Jill applied for an Opportunity Zone Grant for the county. Jolley, Rockwell City, and Pomeroy were approved by the State for the grant.
