Formed in 2009, Rockwell City Revitalization is a coalition of passionate citizens working to improve our community. Here are a few of our past projects. We hope you’ll join us for our future ones!
One of the most dramatic projects the Revitalization committee has been a part of has been demolishing unsafe buildings around the square to make room for new businesses.
While renovating the Duck Pond, local police officer Jamie Buenting was killed in the line of duty. In his honor and in appreciation for all his support of the project, the area was renamed the Jamie Buenting Memorial Park.
Rockwell City Revitalization worked hard to complete Gardens on 4th. When in bloom, it is a beautiful element that adds wonderful character to our downtown area.
The group designed and installed signs to direct travelers from new Highway 20 to Rockwell City.
One of the first projects was to “Bring Back the Bandstand”, a gazebo that sat on the Courthouse lawn in the mid-1900s. Now rebuilt, it is now used by folks throughout the year.
